Coach Nesbitt is entering his seventh season as a member of the Blue Devil coaching staff. Coach Nesbitt most recently served as the defensive backs coach and will now make a transition back to the offense side of the football in the 2011 season. Prior to last season, Coach Nesbitt spent five years (2004-2009) as Head freshman football coach, directing and developing the youth of the Blue Devil program. In addition to his role on the football staff, Coach Nesbitt is also a member of the Blue Devil basketball program. In the past 4 years, Coach Nesbitt has led his freshman/JV boys to three (2009-2011) consecutive District 5A championships with an overall record of 46 wins and just 3 losses. Prior to entering the teaching and coaching profession, Coach Nesbitt was an outstanding quarterback in college. A two year starter and 3 year letterman at Carson-Newman College (2000-2003), Coach Nesbitt led his team to the NCAA Division II championship game on ESPN. After graduating with two undergraduate degrees (BS in Special education/ BA in Psychology), Coach Nesbitt competed in training camps with the Toronto Argonauts before coming to Marietta to teach and coach. Away from athletics, Coach Nesbitt is a decorated Special Education teacher at Marietta Middle who brings the same passion and enthusiasm to the classroom as he does in is coaching career.
