Marietta High School Blue Devil Football

Phillip Rogers is entering his second year at Marietta High School. He is an assistant with the Freshman Team and will coach the Quarter Backs, Running Backs, and Line Backers. Coach Rogers is a native of Loganville, Georgia where he was a standout football and baseball player for Loganville High School. Playing Linebacker, Running Back, and Kicker in high school, Coach Rogers was named team captain during both his junior and senior years. Following high school, Coach Rogers attended Georgia College and State University where he played baseball for two years until a shoulder injury cut his career short. Following his injury, Coach Rogers transferred to the University of Georgia where he walked on to the football team and earned a History degree. Coach Rogers completed his Masters of the Art in Teaching degree at Georgia College and State University in 2010. He also serves as an assistant baseball coach for the Blue Devils and teaches in the Social Studies Department here at MHS. Coach Rogers is engaged to MHS graduate and Park Street elementary teacher, Laura Holt and they will be married late fall 2011.
