Herdley Harrison is a native of Marietta, where he graduated from Marietta High School and played for Coach James “Friday” Richards. He was a team captain and the MVP of the 2001 football team as a two way starter at tight end and defensive end, plus participated in all special teams. He was named Marietta Area Super 11, and was a two-time all-region selection. In addition to being Named Mr. MHS he also lettered in baseball and track and field.
Coach Harrison earned a scholarship to Vanderbilt University where he was a four year starter at linebacker and defensive end from 2002-2005. He earned Academic All SEC Honors during the 2003, 2004, and 2005 seasons. Coach Harrison is happy to return to Marietta along with his wife Brooke Harrison. He is also very excited to now be apart of his alma mater’s coaching staff as this will be his first year coaching with the Blue Devil Program. Coach Harrison’s two older sisters Jamila Harrison and Hasina Reece are also part of the Blue Devil family as former varsity cheerleaders and MHS graduates.
