Scott Brunet

Offesnive Coordinator / Offensive Line

Coach Brunet is in his 3rd season on the Blue Devils’ staff after 25 years of coaching high school football in Virginia.  The last 16 years have been working with the nationally ranked Oscar Smith Tigers from Chesapeake, Virginia.

During his tenure as the offensive and defensive line coach, Oscar Smith was the winningest Division 6A program in the state of Virginia since 2002 with 30 playoff victories, 11 consecutive district championships, and a 74 district game winning streak. Oscar Smith played for the regional championship for 11 straight years winning 5: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2013. Oscar Smith has also had 6 state final four appearances winning the state championship in 2008 and 2011.

          Coach Brunet has coached 19 all-state lineman, three All-Americans, and the 2013 National Gatorade Player of the Year.

          While coaching track and field, Coach Brunet has led two different schools to top 5 state finishes, coaching numerous state champions and state place winners, including one national champion and the Virginia State Gatorade Player of the year for Track and Field in 2012.

          Coach Brunet is married and has 3 children and 1 grandchild.  Wife, Marcia teaches at Marietta Middle School. Joey (28), wife Britney and daughter Alexis live in Marietta. Joey is a Health and Physical Education Teacher in Fulton County.  Daughter Amy (25) lives and teaches high school Math in

Clarksville, Tennessee.  Tim (19) will be a freshmen at the University of West Georgia.
